Sunday Social...Childhood edition

Whew! It's Sunday.

Whichever way you look at it, as the start or the end to your week. Without further adu (is that how you spell it? probably not and I am too lazy to google it haha) Here is the CHILDHOOD EDITION of Sunday Social!

Sunday Social

1. Did you sleepwalk as a child?
Hmmmm.... Not that I know of but Jordon does and I have always wondered where he gets that from.

2. Did you ever try to run away or sneak out of your house?
Not EVER!! First of all we had dogs, and an alarm... AND we lived in the woods kinda, AND I am afraid of the dark. So opening a window quiet enough not to wake the loud dogs just to set off an alarm and announce my exit into the dark woods where Sasquatch probably camped out at night never sounded appealing to me.

3. Did you have any imaginary friends?
No, but I did play "Costco" with my sister and we would pretend to be giving samples out to invisible people...." you want a sample?" **imaginary nod** "ok, here you go" **puts piece of food into own mouth**
Now that I am thinking back how was this EVER fun.... why did we not stop after the first imaginary nod and just eat our lunch like normal people?? LOL

4. Did you ever go toilet papering?
Nope, I am a wuss! I would never have wanted to get caught, and there really is no way to play off standing in a driveway holding rolls of toilet paper.

5. Did you ever sneak tv shows you weren't allowed to watch?
Absolutely! My childhood was full of T.V that was not appropriate. It all started with my dad letting us watch whatever we wanted when we were at his house!! Thanks Dad :)

PS:: Making the "bloglovin switch"
Sooooo.....

Happy Amazing Race Night!

Boys VS Girls

Time for
GIRLS VS BOYS ...closet style....
Seriously. Any of you mommies have a boy and a girl (or multiples of either/both) notice the difference in closet size or fullness. Maybe it's just the fact that clothes and shoes have always been one of my fav things.
I'm not sure either if the fact that my son is almost 10 and is a dirty, stinky almost pre-teen boy (ummm what is the official pre-teen age btw?) or if it is the fact that boy clothes just bore me. Jordon has his own "style" which is basically clothes that we have approved and bought for him since he could really care less. We do go back and forth on the long hair vs. clean cut issue in this house. Usually long hair wins for winter and clean cut comes back for summer/soccer season.

EXHIBIT A : The boys room

and for real ALL his pants end up looking like this within weeks...maybe even days of getting them!

Jaida on the other hand....
Where do I even begin?
She has more clothes than I know what to do with, more shoes than she prob ever needs and a mom who has a shopping addiction. HELP!! Thanks also to the world of Pinterest and my "baby swag" board she is always trending new outfits ;)

EXHIBIT B: The Girl's Room::

and i feel the need to mention that those drawers are full of LAYERS of onsies and pants etc... not to mention every hanger has a shirt on it up there so don't let the fact that they are all pushed together fool you!

Oh man oh man... that picture doesn't even do her closet justice. Maybe another day I will have a post dedicated to her shoe collection :)

Until then,
look at what Jaida got as a token of appreciation for her "modeling gig" the other day!!

Friday's Letters

Dear Friday......

I am actually not dreading you this week ( in case you forgot in this house Friday = Monday)

Maybe it's the nice weather that we have had the last few days. Maybe it's the fact that the house is clean and I have nothing planned until this evening. It could even be that I am just not thinking further ahead of this moment right here and now where I am in blog-land and happy!

Whatever the case it is time for Friday's Letters.

Dear Sun, thank you for showing your glorious face these last few days which is the "weekend" in our house. Dear Anxiety, I really don't understand why buying something as simple as a birthday present can make you go wild. Calm down would ya'  Dear Hubs, Thanks for being an amazing man, even though your OCD can drive me crazy it is so nice to know that our house will always be spotless when you are here and even if you hate the constant cleaning you never complain....bless your soul! Dear Perfectionism, you are perfect and you get on my nerves when it comes to editing photos and writing! Dear Target, I hope you are happy. I am officially grounded from stepping foot in another store of yours until I stop feeling the need to buy everything, and then doing just that. So that means I will probably not see you anytime soon. Dear Coco, (the pit bull) welp I guess you're not the dog for us because your shelter doesn't return emails.... {but say only to send an email and have no number...whaaaa?!}... it's ok though getting a dog was vetoed at our house for now so I'm not sure why I emailed anyways haha. Dear "the Voice", I love you. that is all!

Hope all you lovelies enjoy YOUR weekend! HAPPY FRIDAY!

TEN months!!

It's true.... the baby is officially TEN months old now!!

She is totally crawling EVERYWHERE and pretty quickly too. She isn't a fan of trying to stand or anything yet. She does a lot of "downward dog" yoga moves. She loves to climb over things and it is pretty cute to watch her!

This girl talks... A LOT (imagine that) I swear she is already repeating everything we say but in baby-talk. She eats pretty much smaller bits and pieces of what we eat...to a point. She is still eating about 2-3 jars of baby food a day and drinking 4 bottles (a total of about 24oz.) of formula. She loves mum mums (rice crackers) and those yogurt bites too.

She still sucks her two fingers and is still sleeping all the time :) She sleeps from 6:30pm-8am usually and takes 2-3 naps a day.

Seriously Jaida you are such a blessing and I thank God everyday for you and your sweet soul. You are the best baby ever!!

FYI

Blog is undergoing a small makeover... bear with me here :)

Life Changes

You know.... there comes a time ( or several) in your life where you realize you may have taken a route that was meant to lead to a dead end. I believe God allows you to take these routes because it's the wall at the end..... that you sometimes slam your face into.... where the true lesson is found. Sometimes I think I hear God speaking to me and telling me that I need to go one way when in fact that could purely be temptation calling my name.

As many of you know, or by my lack of blogging may have figured..... I got "too busy." As if the life of a stay at home mom isn't busy enough I added other things to my plate, simply trying to "do it ALL." I wanted to help my friends, earn extra money for shopping, be more involved with everything...everywhere. But you can't do that. You can't live your life always looking for more because guess what happens..... you stop spending quality time with GOD. You miss out on family nights, and day dates with your hubby. Your kids grow up in the backseat of a car because you never spend time just BEING home. So how did I stop running to fast you ask?

PRAYER

My prayers aren't always perfect and God knows the prayers of this last season were far too rushed, but he still spoke to me by giving me an immense peace within myself to know that I am not living with faith when I am trying to do it all....alone. I felt him telling me that I don't have to have a title. I don't need to be the first person to volunteer for everything that is put in my path. I need to rest in the fact that even though I only have one voice, this voice can touch thousands, or this voice can touch one...and BOTH are important to God. I need to let go and let God lead me to the place that I belong.

Don't get me wrong, I have dreams, and goals and it says very clearly in the bible that we are designed to work and I have no intentions to just sit back and hope that life will just be handed to me on a silver platter. However, I will not take on every project or opportunity I see any longer. I have learned to say "no." To put my family first.... better yet to put God first!!

Wondering if you are heading straight into the wall of a dead end? Pray... he will answer!

Sunday Social *PINTEREST EDITION*

First of all, asking me to pick a "FAV" from each of the following boards is so wrong!! Especially the food pins ...Um HELLO it is going to take me hours of looking at food pins on my board just to pick a favorite. Not to mention I have not made dinner yet so now my ADHD brain that tries to stay off Pinterest when I already have a menu written out is going to be super distracted!

While I am side tracking.... let me tell you a little secret.... I may or may not have decided to "refashion" some of my old clothes into trendy little clothes for Jaida. Let me tell you another secret....that was a COMPLETE waste of at least 5 hours of my life. I am not a sewer. I have no patience so I try to shortcut everything.... not a good idea.

Lets just say I am now out about 3 shirts and Jaida still has nothing "refashioned"....GULP.

Ok back to the Sunday Social!

Sunday Social

..... here goes Nuthin'!

What is your favorite outfit pin?

yep!! LOVE this one! I actually bought a leopard scarf (from Hong Kong for a penny) and black skinnies just because of this pin. Only problem is I really dont think sock buns look good with my face shape... I dunno. Also I still need to invest in a salmon/coralish/pink sweatshirt. Supes Cute!

What is your favorite food pin?

Ok, so I know that I have been bad on the recipe blogging front but even though you can't see proof I swear I try to make at least 4 new Pinterest meals each week. I have a few staple items that I make maybe once a month on average because they are favorites in this household! The above is one of those.... It is SOOOO easy! Its Just a melted stick of butter on a baking sheet with 1-2 lemons cut into slices on top, shrimp on top of that and then sprinkle a pkg. of Italian Seasoning over the top! BOOM easy! Oh then bake at 350 for about 15 mins.

What is your favorite wedding pin?

awww sad.... I don't have a wedding board. I mean really not THAT sad because I am already married so why would I right? Well actually Here's the thing....hubs and I got married "eloping" style. Basically we told family and close friends but were only married in front of 6 guests...one being my then 7yr old son ;) His family lives out of state and while we would have LOVED to have them here we couldn't afford it and we didn't want to do all the planning that would have been involved, BUT I would secretly like to plan a "real" wedding ceremony for our 5th anniversary. Complete with a honeymoon that we also never had! That is a little over 2 years away so perhaps I should start a "dream wedding/vow renewal" board!

What is your favorite DIY/craft pin?

Well now THIS is almost as hard as picking a favorite food pin. This is my next project...super cute right?!

What is your favorite quote/verse/lyric pin?

Oh if only I could count the number of times I have heard at the end of a story i have told " is THAT the whole story?"
haha well let's just say I would be RICH!

Share one more random pin you love.

This one is from my "baby swag" board. Hello...this board is where I get style ideas for the baby!! :) It is my new favorite board by the way!

A day in the life

So.... My life can be crazy busy, but lets get the facts straight....I MISS BLOGGING!

First let me give a shout out to Jaida for being the worlds BEST sleeper! I mean seriously the fact that God has blessed me with a baby that loves to sleep is a life saver! I am absolutely positive that if she didn't nap as well as she does the house would never be cleaned, emails would never be sent, and a blog.....now that would never have happened!

So thank you Lord for that!

I have had to come to terms with the fact that I cant do EVERYTHING ( I know say whaaaaat?!) Sometimes it can be a curse that from the outside it looks like I am "just a stay at home mom" which in itself can be a full time job. I only say CAN be because seriously Jaida is so easy that the small amount of time that she is awake and I am playing with her is more like a break in my day.

** all you parents with colicky babies or toddlers or multiple children ...dont hate on me... I am by all means NOT sitting around watching TV eating bon bons while she naps.... I DO have a job AND run a business... so i am busy. Trust.

Anyway, back to the blogging.

What I am trying to continue ( and have been for a few months now) is making new meals for dinner (via Pinterest) at least 5 days a week. My goal in the beginning was to take pics of the steps and eventually blog about that. I haven't gotten that far yet. Sorry.

I made this "weekly dinner menu" out of an old picture frame and some scrapbook stuff:

This is an old picture...it actually has the weeks menu on it right now

Tonights dinner is crockpot pulled pork which i made my own BBQ sauce for...without a recipe.

It has actually been SO MUCH easier to make food from Pinterest recipes though! I even create my grocery shopping lists from Pinterest. Love it!

Having ADHD makes it hard to keep focused on one thing for very long so not only am I wanting to blog about that BUT i am starting round 2 of my full wrap treatment.... Think I will document that and blog it as well. I wish that I could set aside times to do everything since I am such a planner but being an administrative assistant, a blogger, a mommy, a wife, a business owner, a crafter etc. Most things come at me last minute and I am forced to "fly by the seat of my pants" ..... I haven't mastered that yet. I want everything to have a time slot and fit into the perfect spot, but Lord knows the second I sit to write a blog, the baby wakes up with a blowout at the same time my phone rings to schedule an apt. all while I am responding to a message on facebook and 3 texts that also came in at the same time, only to turn around and realize that dinner is burning and the laundry is still sitting in the washing machine after 8 hrs. So how do I handle that? I dont...I cry. LOL. Like I said I am a work in progress people so pray for me. ;)

To be honest on days where the above happens I scrap the dinner plans and take the baby in her pajamas to get fast food. Ain't nobody got time to be perfect!

PS: fun side note.... we noticed while looking in the baby monitor this morning that Jaida is learning how to stand. Life is about to get even MORE busy. Cheers!
Here's to eventually finding time to "do it all."

Be Brave!

Welp.... I did it.

I posted my before and afters for my itWorks business on the world wide web.

My stomach was in some serious knots before hand. As a matter of fact I took the pictures 2 days ago and they were just sitting on my phone. I didn't even want to show my husband to which he replied "did you think I didn't know what you looked like?!" haha good point hubs good point.

The good news?

Well what do you want first?

There's the fact that I feel an insane amount of relief for finally getting up the courage to post that picture.

There is also the fact that my inbox was flooded and my phone blew up with people either wanting to also try the products or tell me that my pictures were inspiring.

or maybe you want my favorite bit of good news......

The fact that pictures say 1000 words and you cannot tell me that you STILL don't believe the products will work for you. They worked for me, you can SEE that! I swear I have the most stubborn belly fat around. I have worked out, I have quit sugar, I have dieted a million different diets, and maybe i should remind you that my belly looked like THIS 9 months ago...

Now the comments "your ALL belly" aren't as endearing!

Don't misunderstand me here... if you want lasting results you NEED to live a healthy lifestyle. I will be back on the workout train soon...and really will take this no sugar thing seriously (after the ice cream makes it way outa the house) without further adu ( thats prob spelled wrong) here they are!!

the left is before and the right is after....duh
I did 4 wraps total ( 1 box) in a 12 day period. I wrapped every 72hours and drank half of my weight in oz of water!

want more info? Here are your options::
Email me// itsskinnytime@hotmail.com

I have a long way to go I know but hey these results are pretty great if you ask me :)

**Now I have posted it twice... your welcome hahaha
